A two-car accident on Indiana State Road 3 and the Muncie Bypass stopped traffic for close to an hour Saturday afternoon. The Delaware County Sheriff Department, the Muncie Fire Department, the Delaware County Emergency Management Services and the Monroe Township Fire Department responded to the accident around 1 p.m. Sheriff’s deputies reported a Chevy Cavalier leaving the Bypass and heading North on Indiana State Road 3 failed to yield to a Ford F-150 driving in the same direction. The two people in the Cavalier-- the driver and a passenger, both male-- were extracted from the vehicle with help from the fire departments and EMS. The driver was flown to Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis and is in serious condition. The passenger was taken to IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. Two women were in the Ford truck, the driver was sent to IU Health BMH with minor injuries.
