Did a story about literacy a few weeks ago. These images are from a Story Hour that happens every Friday at the Emmaus House Resource Center, 733 S. 14th St in Saginaw. These children were either four or younger. Each child received a bag containing treats and a book. Carolyn Maksimowicz started Story Hour after she encountered a 4-year-old boy who came in search of food at the Emmaus House and did not know what a book was. Story Hour will take place ever Friday though November, with the goal to introduce books into children homes, make learning fun, and teach positive character traits in children.
