Firefighters battle a fully engulfed detached garage fire Saurday, Apirl 13, 2013, in the 1300 block of South Elm Street. Muncie Fire Chief Rector believed the lot was vacant. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, no injures were reported.

 Doris "Nicki" Myers looks over her damaged mobile home Wednesday, March 6, 2013 after the felon she had hired to repair it fled without doing the work and stole all her money, $271. Myers is moving from one mobile home to the one pictured. She desperately needs help completing the repairs to her new home, and moving her possessions from one trailer to the other by a March 13 deadline.

 A home in northwestern Delaware County was destroyed by flames late Thursday afternoon. The blaze was reported shortly after 5 p.m. at 13313 N. Delaware County Road 975-W, west of Interstate 69. According to emergency scanner traffic, the home was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters initially arrived on scene. Multiple departments and as many as 10 trucks were dispatched to the home. The cause of the fire remained under investigation late Thursday; early scanner traffic indicated the fire might have started in the flooring, but confirmation of that or further information on the blaze was not immediately available.
