Firefighters battle a fully engulfed detached garage fire Saurday, Apirl 13, 2013, in the 1300 block of South Elm Street. Muncie Fire Chief Rector believed the lot was vacant. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, no injures were reported.

 A home in northwestern Delaware County was destroyed by flames late Thursday afternoon. The blaze was reported shortly after 5 p.m. at 13313 N. Delaware County Road 975-W, west of Interstate 69. According to emergency scanner traffic, the home was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters initially arrived on scene. Multiple departments and as many as 10 trucks were dispatched to the home. The cause of the fire remained under investigation late Thursday; early scanner traffic indicated the fire might have started in the flooring, but confirmation of that or further information on the blaze was not immediately available.  A two-car accident on Indiana State Road 3 and the Muncie Bypass stopped traffic for close to an hour Saturday afternoon. The Delaware County Sheriff Department, the Muncie Fire Department, the Delaware County Emergency Management Services and the Monroe Township Fire Department responded to the accident around 1 p.m. Sheriff’s deputies reported a Chevy Cavalier leaving the Bypass and heading North on Indiana State Road 3 failed to yield to a Ford F-150 driving in the same direction. The two people in the Cavalier-- the driver and a passenger, both male-- were extracted from the vehicle with help from the fire departments and EMS. The driver was flown to Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis and is in serious condition. The passenger was taken to IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. Two women were in the Ford truck, the driver was sent to IU Health BMH with minor injuries.

Two-car accident and a gun show
