Thrill seekers enjoy body boarding Kenduskeag Stream after heavy rain

Sometimes the standalone gods shine down and give you gold.
BANGOR, Maine — The threat of a Nor’easter kept many Mainers inside the last few days. But two thrill seekers braved the elements to enjoy a ride down the Kenduskeag Stream Thursday in Bangor, on a body board.
Dressed in wet suits and protected with whitewater gear, Justin Davis and Chelsea Lebel sought out a few wild seconds of the rushing stream. With reports estimating around five inches of rainfall, the stream was a little higher than normal around this time of year.
“We go out whenever the water comes up,” said Davis. “When the water comes up, it brings the magic.”
